1. What you are buying

You are buying a listing on a keyword page of this website. A link and a short tagline are displayed on that page until another user pays more than you did and takes the listing. Your listing is your link and your tagline — we do not display your name, and no part of the listing identifies you.

That is the whole of it. We do not guarantee traffic, clicks, visitors, search engine ranking, or any business result of any kind. Owning a word here is a feature of this website. It is not a trademark, a domain name, or any legal right to the word itself.

2. All sales are final

Every payment is final and non-refundable. Money you pay us becomes one of two things. Anything you pay above what a word costs becomes account credit, which you may spend on any word at any time. Anything you pay to hold a particular word becomes a stake in that word, described in clause 3.

Both are non-refundable, non-withdrawable and non-transferable, have no cash value, and never expire. Being outbid does not entitle you to a refund or to any compensation.

3. The outbid rule

Any other user may take any word from you at any time by paying the higher price shown on that word’s page. This is the core mechanic of the service and you accept it by purchasing.

Everything you have paid to hold a word stays with you as a stake in that word. If you later take it back, your stake counts towards the new price and you pay only the difference. A stake never expires. It applies only to the word it was earned on, and it is not account credit — you cannot spend it on any other word.

4. Acceptable use

Links must use https and must not point to adult content, drugs, weapons, gambling, counterfeit goods, illegal material, or deceptive destinations. Taglines are subject to the same rules. We may remove a link or a listing that breaks these rules, without refund. Repeated violations end in a ban, and the links on any words that account owns are removed.

5. Trademarks and intellectual property

Claiming a word grants no trademark or other intellectual property right in it. If you hold rights in a term and believe a listing infringes them, write to support@keywordwars.lol with the word, your rights, and your contact details. We may remove or reassign a listing in response to a claim we consider valid, without refund.

6. Moderation

We may remove any listing, refuse any word, or close any account in order to protect the service. Where we act in error we may restore the listing or credit the account at our discretion.

7. The service is provided as is

The service is provided “as is” with no uptime guarantee. We may change prices and mechanics — the floor price, the increment, payment minimums — but only going forward. Changes never apply retroactively to a word you already own.

8. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the total amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

9. Chargebacks

Credits and listings are delivered immediately on payment. Starting a chargeback on delivered credits or listings will result in your account being suspended and your listings removed. If you believe a charge is wrong, write to support@keywordwars.lol first.

10. Your account, ending it, and changes to these terms

You may close your account at any time; balances and listings are forfeited on closure and are not refunded. We may end your access for a breach of these terms. These terms are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States. When we publish a new version we will email you; continued use means you accept it, and every new payment requires you to accept the current version afresh.

11. Privacy

We store your email address, a one-way hash of your IP address, and your transaction records. We never store your IP address in the clear. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us. We do not sell your data.
